A profitable Day
I spent today rearranging my livingroom. I unplugged my computer and struggled with the wires that persisted in writhing around to tangle around each other, and my legs and my hair. I rearranged my desk, and finally, after hours, managed to get everything plugged in and working - much better than before!
This morning I got a call from someone who wanted to buy my old turntable and speakers for $50, which allowed me to buy a neat antique style turntable/cd player/cassette player combo that I've been eyeing for months. I bought it this morning. This is what brought about the rearranging mania. With the old turntable and large speakers gone, I have more space. More white wall for a backdrop in photography.
I also met with the woman from Triumph, who is helping me set my goals in schooling and an eventual career, as well as helping me find a part time job to replace the stupid dishwashing job where they don't value me enough to schedule me more than once a week. She's also signed me up for a free, take at home course in starting my own business through the computer - it begins in September. I'm moving along, slowly but surely, toward my future. And I finally heard back from the college, so now I know what I need to take in order to be eligable to take a course in applied business technology, so I can eventually apply for secretarial jobs.
Best of all, I found a wonderful home for my lonesome weather loach. A young woman came with her friend today, and took him home to a tank where he has other fish, and a female weather loach who, she told me later on the phone, has already fallen in love with him! And well she should, Oscar is many times the usual size for his kind, and covered in beautiful markings. The woman's friend is going to buy my aquarium, stand and cannister pump for $50, so altogether today, I made two days wages!
